Gardner Law Expands Privacy and AI Practice with Addition of Mercy Ulo

Gardner Law is pleased to announce that Mercy Ulo has joined the firm as a Senior Attorney, expanding the firm’s capabilities in privacy, artificial intelligence, data governance, and commercial counseling for life sciences, healthcare, and technology companies.

Mercy brings significant in-house and seconded experience advising pharmaceutical, healthcare, and technology companies on the legal and operational issues surrounding health data. Her practice includes privacy and AI governance, product launches, patient support programs, market access data strategy, digital health initiatives, clinical research, cybersecurity, and commercial contracting.

Her work has involved navigating HIPAA, state consumer and health data privacy laws, GDPR, emerging AI regulation, and other privacy and security frameworks while working directly with legal, regulatory, market access, commercial, technology, product, procurement, and R&D teams. She has also advised on generative AI initiatives, cross-border data transfers, mobile healthcare applications, patient recruitment platforms, and direct-to-consumer pharmaceutical programs.

Mercy earned her J.D. from New York University School of Law and her Master of Public Health from Harvard University School of Public Health. She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional in both the United States and Europe and a Certified Information Privacy Manager.
